Chair scale, mechanical

Definition
A mechanical device designed for weighing elderly and/or weak patients or patients with a disability who are unable to use a conventional floor scale. It is in the form of a chair in which the patient sits; it typically has weights mounted on a sliding bar scale which are adjustable to achieve a balance indicating the weight of the occupant.
