Biased results of the direction and magnitude observed may lead to inappropriate physician action. The original results were reported to the clinician. The investigation confirmed that lower than expected vitros malb patient results were obtained while using the vitros 5,1 fs analyzer. A definitive root cause has not be determined. However, an antigen excess effect in the presence of elevated albumin levels in the patient samples cannot be ruled out. The investigation into vitros malb reagent performance is ongoing.
