The customer has indicated that the product is in the process of being returned to zimmer biomet for investigation. Once the investigation has been completed, a follow-up mdr will be submitted. It was reported that the patient experienced pain from using the bone healing system (bhs). The patient got the bhs for her big toe (the metatarsophalangeal joint). The patient stated that the device feels heavy on her toe. The patient said that the pain began from the first day of using the unit. After 45 minutes of use, she experienced a pain that she can't describe. The patient did speak to her doctor and the doctor provided a script to switch the patient to a different form of treatment. No additional patient consequences were reported.
