It was reported an unknown patient required placement of an ultrathane mac-loc locking loop multipurpose drainage catheter for a drainage procedure. During the procedure, the operator reported "friction in the catheter. " the metal stiffener was "hanging during advancement". The user then experienced difficulty removing the stiffener. The entire device was removed. As reported, the patient did not experience any adverse effects or require any additional procedures due to this occurrence.
