It was reported to boston scientific corporation that a trapezoid rx basket was in the common bile duct during an endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ercp) procedure performed on (b)(6) 2020. According to the complainant, during the procedure, the basket became stuck inside of the patient's bile duct. The procedure was aborted and the patient was transferred to another hospital for surgical removal of the basket. Boston scientific has been unable to obtain additional information regarding the event to date, despite good faith efforts.
