Medtronic received information regarding a navigation system being used for a functional endoscopic sinus surgery (fess). It was reported that intra-operatively, the system had an error of no video detected. The system monitor said video undetected and the system went unresponsive. The site attempted to reboot the system, however, it was not possible to log back into the application. The site received a shell version error and it was not possible to exit the error. The site received an "error encrypting page". The procedure was completed using the navigation system and there was no reported impact to patient outcome. There was a reported delay to the procedure of less than one hour due to this issue.
