Medtronic received information from the patient that immediately post implant of this 28mm mitral annuloplasty ring, it was explanted and replaced with a non-medtronic valve. It was reported that the patient's native valve "had become very rigid" and that the valve "did not respond to the annuloplasty ring the way it was supposed to". No additional adverse patient effects were reported.
