Medtronic received information regarding a navigation system being used for a functional endoscopic sinus surgery (fess) procedure. It was reported that the site had a "localizer faulted" message on the system. The site rebooted the system and disconnected/reconnected the emitter and the issue resolved. There was a 5 minute surgical delay and no impact on patient outcome. It was noted that the issue had occurred before and that there had been successful cases since, so the issue occurred intermittently.
