Battery-powered electromechanical operating table system
Definition
An assembly of devices designed with interchangeable operating table tops and table top transport trolleys to support and facilitate the transport of a surgical patient from the surgical reception area, to the operating room (OR) for the surgical procedure, and to the patient recovery area or intensive care unit (ICU). It typically consists of a moveable (non-fixed), height-adjustable column that can be repositioned as desired within the OR, a selection of loose table tops dedicated to various clinical specialties, a control panel and a remote control for steering of the battery-powered (rechargeable battery pack) motorized column/table top, and table top transport trolleys.
