Bedside infusion pump drop sensor

Definition
A device intended to detect (sense) the liquid drops falling into the drip chamber of an intravenous (IV) line used in conjunction with a bedside infusion pump, to confirm flow and activate the pump alarm when pre-set limits of the drop rate are exceeded. It is a small photoelectric unit intended to fit around the drip chamber. The drop rate or volume are not displayed using this device (i.e., not a monitor). This is a reusable device.
