Blood gas electrode, oxygen

Definition
An electrical conducting device used to determine the concentration of oxygen (O2) in a sample of blood. The device usually consists of a platinum (Pt) wire or dropping mercury (Hg); oxygen concentration in blood samples is measured by polarography. This is a single-use device.
