Electroencephalographic simulator
- Definition
- An instrument that electronically produces artificial physiological signals or replays digitally recorded patient data to perform rapid testing, simulating that of an electroencephalograph (EEG) recorder or monitor. It is used at a clinical site to assist the staff in checking patient lead continuity and alarm functions of EEG devices. The device may also be used to train healthcare personnel to recognize a variety of physiological waveforms.
