Extracorporeal blood parameter probe

Definition
An electronic device intended to be used to measure blood parameters (e.g., oxygen saturation, haematocrit) in a extracorporeal perfusion system using noninvasive optical technology. It typically clamps over the exterior of a flexible tube within the system, and is used in conjunction with a visual display meter/monitor. This is a reusable device.
