A material which is used to establish known points of reference for an assay intended to be used for the qualitative and/or quantitative determination of the osmotic fragility of red cells from a clinical specimen in an acid solution, also known as Ham's acid red cell test or a paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) test.
