Lower-limb mechanical weight exerciser

Definition
A mechanical exercise apparatus intended primarily to strengthen the major muscles of the lower body (e.g., quadriceps, hamstrings, calves, hip adductors, gluteus maximus) through a repetitive squatting, stepping, lunging, extending, curling, or pushing motion performed with the legs/feet against the force of a weight. It typically consists of a metal frame containing a sliding sled, lever, or pulley-cable system that incorporates changeable weights and a platform or stirrups for the feet or hands; a bench may be included for the user to sit or lay while performing the exercise. The device may also be used to improve lower body flexibility and mobility.
