Mobile solid seat lifting system

Definition
A mobile assembly of devices designed to enable one person to lift and move an incapacitated patient or a person with a disability, of any size and weight, in a sitting position on a solid seat with minimal physical effort. Also known as a mobile seat hoist, it typically consists of a support base on wheels with a non-electrical lifting mechanism, mast, and a solid seat, spade seat or equivalent upon which the patient sits. The lifting mechanism is power-assisted (e.g., using pneumatic springs) to aid manual raising and lowering of the seat. It is typically used for bathing (e.g., the seat with occupant is lowered into the water) or it can be adapted to a seat with a commode aperture.
