Nipple pad, non-sterile

Definition
A non-sterile device intended to be worn directly over the breast/nipple of a nursing woman between breast feedings to help protect the nipple from chafing, due to friction from clothing; it may in also be intended to absorb leaking breast milk. It is typically either a fabric pad (e.g., a cotton pad) or a dome-shaped gel (e.g., hydrogel) cover and often referred to as a nursing pad. It is normally available [non-prescription] over-the-counter (OTC). This is a single-use device.
