Operative tracheostomy tube

Definition
A sterile hollow cylinder designed to be inserted into the tracheostomy of a patient during an operative procedure. It is extended in length compared to a basic tracheostomy tube to enable connection to a breathing system or a humidifier, typically located at a distance from the operative field to allow easier access to the site of intervention. It is typically made of plastic/silicone materials and has an inflatable cuff at its distal end. This is a single-use device.
