Ophthalmic incision retractor

Definition
An ophthalmic surgical instrument used for drawing aside the margins of an incision made in the eye and its related structures during a surgical procedure. It typically has a self-retaining, dual arm design with curved hooks or blades at the distal end that grasp the tissue to be held apart. The proximal end is typically conjoined and will have an adjustable mechanism by which the working end is held in an expanded position. It is made of high-grade stainless steel and is available in various sizes and designs. This is a reusable device.
