Skin closure clamp

Definition
A sterile, nonimplantable, manual device designed for the temporary approximation of the free edges of a skin wound or skin incision until surgical repair. It includes hand-operated jaws with teeth/prongs designed to grip the skin; once applied it is intended to lock in place. The device is mainly used to arrest bleeding (i.e., haemostasis) and is typically intended for emergency situations (e.g., unintentional injuries, battlefield). This is a single-use device.
