Definition
A bowl-shaped component of a stereotactic radiotherapy breast positioning system intended to cover, and provide a vacuum around, a female breast to facilitate reproducible positioning/immobilization during stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) imaging and treatment. It is used in conjunction with a patient contact cup where a vacuum is formed between the two cups. It may also incorporate a fiducial marker for accurate tumour localization and is typically made of polymers. This is a reusable device.
