Surgical staple loading unit, cutting

Definition
A unit containing non-bioabsorbable surgical staples (implantable and typically U-shaped lengths of wire made of implant grade metal) and an internal circular cutting blade designed to be used with an intraluminal surgical stapler (not included) during bowel resection surgery to create anastomoses (e.g., end-to-end, end-to-side, or side-to-side). The unit is designed to deploy the staples in a circular row while the blade cuts out the tissue within the staple line to create a new channel for the anastomosis. This is a single-use device.
