Thermometer jar

Definition

A cylindrical, tall, slender vessel intended to be used for holding thermometers prior to and during their use on a patient. It is typically made of high-grade stainless steel or sterilizable plastic material (e.g., polypropylene) and will have a wide or weighted base to give it stability. The jar may hold an antiseptic solution. This is a reusable device.
