A freestanding device, typically in the form of padded arm and back rests fitted to a framework, that stands on the floor surrounding a toilet to assist a person with a disability to sit on or get off of the toilet by providing support for their arms and/or back. The device is easily removed from the toilet bowl for conventional toilet use.
