The Good Neighbor Pharmacy Freeze Skin Tag Remover product utilizes extreme cold to facilitate the removal of skin tags by freezing. Each kit contains a container of cryogen gas, foam applicators, tweezers and instructions for use. The device is for OTC use and utilizes a combination of dimethyl ether, propane and isobutane delivered from the canister into a foam applicator which acts as a reservoir for the cryogen gas. The gas rapidly evaporates and cools the applicator to approximately -55C. The applicator is then placed against the skin tag for 40 seconds which freezes the targeted tissue. The frozen skin tag falls away over time and new epidermis grows in its place. One to four treatments with intervals of two weeks may be required.
An assembly of devices designed to apply cold from a gaseous or liquid refrigerant (cryogen) [e.g., liquid nitrogen (LN2), nitrous oxide (N2O), carbon dioxide (CO2)] to malignant or abnormal benign tissue for its destruction and removal. The system typically includes a mechanical regulator to control the flow of cryogen, contained in an attached cylinder, and the probe(s) to apply the cold. The system is used across clinical specialties (e.g., general surgery, dermatology, oral surgery, gynaecology, urology, ENT, proctology, oncology) and is not dedicated to ophthalmic or cardiac use.
