The SAS™ Legionella Test is a visually read, in vitro immunochromatographic rapid assay for the presumptive qualitative detection of Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 antigens in human urine. This test is intended to aid in the presumptive diagnosis of Legionnaires’ disease in conjunction with culture and other methods for patients with signs and symptoms of pneumonia. A collection of reagents and other associated materials intended to be used for the qualitative and/or semi-quantitative detection of antigens from one or multiple serogroups of Legionella pneumophila in a clinical specimen within a short period, relative to standard laboratory testing procedures, using an immunochromatographic test (ICT) method. This test is commonly used in the laboratory or in point-of-care analyses for the rapid detection of infection with Legionella pneumophila, the bacteria associated with Legionnaires' disease.
