A pessary is a vaginal prosthesis that has evolved over centuries to become an effective medical device to relieve the stress of a cystocele, a rectocele, a uterine or bladder prolapse, or the problems associated with urinary incontinence. Pessaries come in various, shapes, sizes, and materials. They are perfectly safe and comfortable for prolonged usage (>24 h to 30 d). The Pessary devices are constructed of compression-molded medical-grade silicone. Vagina Pessaries are available in eighteen (18) different styles. A Fitting Kit is available to assist the practitioner in selecting the proper pessary style and size.
A device made of rubber or soft plastics designed for insertion into the vagina to hold the uterus, bladder and/or rectum in place and help prevent prolapse (falling or sliding of the organ from its normal position into the pelvic cavity), either as a permanent or temporary treatment; it is not dedicated to bladder-only support. It is available in a variety of shapes (e.g., rings, stems) and sizes; it may be fitted for each woman individually. This is a reusable device after appropriate cleaning.
