Ventriculoperitoneal shuntAn implantable device intended to divert excessive cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from the brain ventricles to the peritoneal cavity, where it can be absorbed into the body, as a treatment for increased intracranial pressure (e.g., caused by hydrocephalus).
