An external device intended to improve breathing by decreasing nasal resistance, thus increasing nasal airflow. The device typically consists of an adhesive bandage with two parallel elastic strips placed on the bridge of the nose; it acts with an upward pu...
A curved metal or plastic tube inserted through the mouth to facilitate airway patency for gas exchange or suctioning. The device prevents the tongue from obstructing airflow. This is a reusable device.
A device intended to be used to compress the nose externally, to ensure that airflow is exclusively conducted through the mouth during examinations of the pulmonary function (e.g., spirometry), and/or to stop nosebleeds (epistaxis). It is typically construc...
A graphic recorder designed for determining and registering airway resistance and thoracic gas volume to assess pulmonary function. It includes an airtight body chamber and transducers that allow the recording of chamber pressure versus airflow, and chamber...
A battery-powered device intended to continuously measure and record patient physiological parameters (e.g., arterial oxygen saturation level, pulse rate, respiration effort, airflow waveform) during sleep in the home, to facilitate the diagnosis of sleep a...
A device designed to graphically record the instantaneous flow (velocity) of air at the mouth or, using an integrated signal, the volume of air per breath during inspiration or expiration. This recorder consists of a resistance attachment (e.g., wire screen...
A ventilated laboratory enclosure designed to prevent airborne biological contamination of laboratory specimens contained within, and personnel handling the specimen, by creating a barrier with a forced flow of uniform-velocity and parallel-direction air. I...
A furniture-like device designed as a partial or total enclosure to provide a class I biosafety level (BSL) to the operator and the environment during the manipulation of microorganisms and other biological hazardous materials (usually up to category 3 path...
A battery-powered device assembly intended to continuously measure and record patient physiological parameters (e.g., arterial oxygen saturation level, pulse rate, respiration effort/pattern, airflow waveform) during sleep in the home, to facilitate the dia...
An interpretive software program intended to collect and analyse patient physiological data during sleep and publish reports to assist a healthcare professional in the diagnosis of sleep disorders (e.g., insomnia, snoring, sleep apnoea) or to help evaluate ...
An electrically-powered device designed to filter air [usually through a high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter] in surgical theatres by producing a directed, non-turbulent flow of clean air to provide an area free of contaminants and reduce the risk...
An internal device intended to improve breathing by decreasing nasal resistance, thus increasing nasal airflow. It is typically in the form of clip, constructed from metal or plastic, that is placed inside the nostrils; it acts by pushing the nostrils open ...
A furniture-like device designed as a partial or total enclosure to provide a class II biosafety level (BSL) to the operator, the product, and the environment during the manipulation of microorganisms and other biological hazardous materials (usually up to ...
An interpretive software program intended to be used exclusively by healthcare professionals to collect and analyse patient physiological data during sleep and publish reports to assist diagnosis of sleep disorders (e.g., insomnia, sleep apnoea). It is typi...
A device intended to be used in an emergency to remove an airflow-obstructing object or material in the oropharynx, trachea, or bronchi to prevent patient asphyxiation. It is typically in the form of a long vacuum tube capable of being inserted into the air...
A portable mechanical device designed to continuously measure tidal and/or minute volume of a spontaneously-breathing or mechanically-ventilated patient, for the evaluation of the patient’s ventilatory status during intensive care treatment, anaesthesia, an...
A hand-held, battery-powered, digital device intended to measure airflow (velocity and volume flow rate) typically for indoor use (e.g., laboratory fume hood testing). It typically consists of a rotating vane attached, via a cable, to a digital display.
A device intended to be used to compress the nose externally, to ensure that airflow is exclusively conducted through the mouth during examinations of the pulmonary function (e.g., spirometry), and/or to stop nosebleeds (epistaxis). It is typically construc...
A noninvasive, manual device designed for the emergency removal of an airflow-obstructing object or material in the oropharynx, trachea, or bronchi to prevent patient asphyxiation. It is in the form of a compression tank (plunger) connected to a face-fittin...
A cart designed to accommodate equipment necessary to measure metabolic energy expenditure. This may also include cardiovascular and respiratory function measurements when the patient is at rest and/or during exercise. This trolley (cart) will typically hol...
An interpretive software program intended to be used exclusively by healthcare professionals to collect and analyse patient physiological data during sleep and publish reports to assist diagnosis of sleep disorders (e.g., insomnia, sleep apnoea). It is typi...
