ADVERSE REACTIONS Adverse reactions with iron supplementation may include constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, dark stools and abdominal pain. Adverse reactions with iron supplementation are usually transient. Allergic sensitization has been reported following both oral and parenteral administration of folic acid.
